General Plan Update Menlo Park

The City of Menlo Park needed to update the Housing Element of the General Plan along with an Environmental Assessment for the plan components and modifications to the Land Use Element. The process included the identification and analysis of potential housing sites on vacant or underutilized land. Each site was evaluated for its development potential using a set of criteria such as location, connectivity, exposure to noise, and visual impacts. Selected sites were studied further by developing site layout alternatives and building typologies. The studies included the review of existing development proposals for these sites and resulted in recommendations for zoning changes and site and building design.
