The Fourth Street Parking Structure in Morgan Hill is the centerpiece of the revitalized downtown. Urban Field Studio worked with the City of Morgan Hill to ensure a connected experience for customers of the main street on Third Street. We provided design guidance and architectural review for the parking structure to strengthen ground floor retail uses and their connection with the streetscape and open spaces in front of the structure.

Urban Field Studio collaborated with MmMDesign to develop the signage program during the construction phase of the project and coordinated Gordon Huether who created the eye-catching public art attached to parking structure. A big spider made from a steel structure and motorcycle headlights and a glass wall with a Poppy Jasper design are references the Morgan Hill’s local landscape and have become signature pieces for Downtown Morgan Hill.

Wayfinding is provided throughout the parking structure in the form of large colorful graphics that integrate the themes from the art pieces, aiding circulation throughout the structure for both drivers and pedestrians and pointing the way to businesses on Third Street.
